I'd like to update my review of 2026 Jan 01 wherein I reported a basket failing within the 1st 700 m of use. Upon replacing the basket I note that the baskets currently supplied with the poles are much sturdier than the one I had that failed. My poles were a gift, of unknown supply/purchase date. I think it is safe to assume that Redfeather updated the baskets selected for their poles. Hence, I'd recommend these poles and have confidence that the baskets currently supplied should be rugged.

Basket broke off of pole in the 1st 700 m of use: -15C, 5mm ice crust.
