I did an original review of the Vapor running snowshoes with the “cross country style binding” . Since that time I have changed them over to the “Thunderbolt” connection system. This system allows for a “direct mount” running shoe to snowshoe, eliminating the need for any binding. i was only able to get a few runs in before the end of the season but was totally impressed with how this worked out. I can’t wait to get them back on the trails next winter.
After 11 years and over a thousand miles in my Vapor running snowshoes I got another pair of Vapors. I live in Montana and much of my winter running is in the snow and I have tried other brands over the years but nothing compares to the Vapors. They are super light and no snow clumping underneath the shoe on warmer days. Best running snowshoes out there!
I have used several different types of running snowshoes over the years and the Redfeather Vapor stands up to the best of them. Such a great powerhouse in such a compact and lightweight snowshoe. I could barely tell that was actually running in snowshoes. The cross country style bindings were very secure and fit perfectly to my running shoes. The powder coated crampons performed flawlessly in the icy conditions,. Providing excellent traction and security knowing i could really dig in on the uphills as well as the downhills. I would strongly recommend this model snowshoe to anyone looking to get into snowshoe running.
